1.
Well I guess he’s on his way From the hospital to home He’s got lots of things to say I’ll try to teach him more And it’s hard to explain the feelings that you feel today And it’s hard to remain the same man that you were yesterday Her smile is like a sunrise It stretches out even your fears cannot hide She’s growing so fast you can miss things So I reach on down and hold her more everyday All he knows is just to believe in you He’ll follow close with every move that you do Now I know just what I have to do Do my best to stay around for a long time
2.
Let me begin before I’m too far away Because I got so much more I want to say See it clearly through someone’s point of view Can only get us closer to the truth They’ll pretend that there’s been nothing wrong But no one ever called them all those names Take a break from all your coloured hate And find something else to kill your pain So many years we thought we had it controlled It breathed in a new life then knocked on our doors One day you’re walking tall and smiling in the streets Then next you’re on the ground begging I can’t breathe Find some solace when you don’t know how this will end Just know there’s more of us than there are them Signs and fists power pumping into the air Just want to overcome the minds that still don’t care
3.
Tip Of A Hat 04:35
I can’t decide if If I am one of them or not I guess I rather be not Because time gets distorted Focused on moments that shape your life It’s a sacrifice Is it true they don’t look at you like the old days? With a tip of a hat and wink of an eye Is it true they don’t look at you like the old days? All we’ve through has been moved to the back of your mind It’s hard to keep up Even though we share in the same living space It’s like a magic show The smoke fills in then they disappear How’d they do that? I don’t need to retrace Along the trail or any other way where I got off of The prime time is over your mind’s slowly coming back and sober Makes you wonder everyday
4.
If I was able to I’d help you find your way back home Back from the lights and music from angels singing songs all day And I knew that you were in my room for not long Just trying to tell me your still dancing on the other floor If I could slow the beat of this marching band passing by I might change the timing but I can’t change the melody I keep looking for your smile and your winking eye If I keep trying to find you I just might find I’ll lose myself Knowing you then losing you You were once but a child then I lived to see your smile And there are days I hear your voice Don’t be afraid to make a choice You ever make now in this life Cause when we’re all done I hope we’ll see you home If I was strong like you I’d keep the ones that I love from harm Teach them all my life mistakes that I’ve been through time and time and again All you were to me is going to live through what I will do Even though you couldn’t stay I just feel you’re not too far from here Knowing you then losing you You were once but a child then I lived to see your smile And there are days I fall apart Don’t be afraid to fill your heart With all the good left in this life Cause when we’re all done I hope we’ll see you home

about

She's Still Dancing was recorded at home out of necessity to stay creative during the 2020/2021 Covid Pandemic. The songs echo the life changes that developed during that time from the first LP Perennials to present. From the cradle to the grave...

This album is dedicated to my dear Auntie.
